Atari have released yet another Alone In The Dark Central Park trailer. Each trailer Atari releases just make us crave game even more! Check out the trailer below:
We all know that the Metal Gear Solid series is renowned for it’s tongue-in-cheek humour, right? Well, if you’re not quite sure what we mean by this, check out the cut scene below!
(WARNING: Do not watch if you don’t want to spoil the funny moment in the game for yourself!)
Insomniac have recently been in touch with Eurogamer and have said that Resistance: Fall of Man will not be receiving Home and trophy support for the game when firmware 2.40 & Home is released. However, Insomniac said that their sequel to Resistance: Fall of Man, Resistance 2, will have full trophy and Home support.
We’re pretty sure that many PS3/Resistance owners out there will be perfectly fine with this decision, seeing as Resistance 2 comes out in November, and many PS3 owners who still play Resistance 1 will probably decide it’s time to move forward and play Resistance 2. Let’s just hope Home and trophy support is released before Resistance 2 is released!
Atari has recently announced that their killer (quite literally) title, “Alone In the Dark” game has just about finished it’s development stages and is ready to to be dispatched throughout the gaming world.
Just a quick reminder that the release date for the game is June 24, 2008 and will be published on all major consoles: PS3, Wii, PS2, Xbox 360 and PC. The release date is set for the 24th June, excluding the PS3 which will receive the title later on in the year in Autumn time.
It’s official. Treyarch’s Call of Duty 5 has been given the title, Call of Duty: World at War. After all the speculation whether this game would be set in WWII or modern day can be put to rest as the game will be set in the Pacific theatre of World War II. This may come across as disappointing for some - it was for me. Modern day warfare (CoD 4) was fun and a good change from Call of Duty’s past line up of games, all set in WWII. But hey, CoD:WaW will be using the CoD:MW game engine so we’ll have to see how it goes!
The game will be released on all major next-gen consoles: PS3, Xbox 360 & Wii. Oh, and of course - the PC.
Treyarch have announced CoD:WaW to be the first Call of Duty game in it’s series to have an online multiplayer Co-Op! The story mode can be experienced with you and up to 3 other friends. The online multiplayer will have between 2-16 players in each game lobby, just like Call of Duty: Modern warfare currently has.
Here’s a quick taster of what the game’s like:
The opening scene of the first level we are shown is a Japanese commander stubbing a cigarette out in the eye of a prisoner before slitting his throat - the blood splatters and dribbles down the side of the tent you are being held in. He turns towards you to deal out the same treatment but help arrives just in time. Cue a daring level-long escape.
We’ll be hearing more about Call of Duty: World at War later this month, so stay tuned!
After all the hype regarding PS3 firmware 2.40 in game XMB, we finally get a clear view of how in game XMB works.
Here’s the video:
It looks pretty real to us, but we’re not going to say it’s 100% real. We aren’t given a clear demonstration of what the firmware 2.4 is capable of. We get to see the system accessing it’s XMB in game, which is good - but nothing much else. We’re not shown music playing in game, friend messaging in game etc… you get the point.
If you’re wondering why the PS3 in this video has a few extra icons on it’s XMB, it’s because the firmware is being processed on a debug PS3 unit.
When can we expect to be receiving firmware 2.40? Sony have been known in the past to release their firmware upgrades on a Tuesday - which is tomorrow - and I’m pretty much sure they’ll release it in time for MGS4. I expect you’ll be able to collect trophies in MGS4 which could possibly be a little secret Kojima Productions are hiding and waiting to surprise us with? Who knows!
Taking the fear to a new level, the next-gen Alone in the Dark features the macabre style of the series played with new gameplay mechanics and a broader-reaching, action-packed play style. Explore fully-interactive realtime worlds, interacting with physics and roaming the wide-open, fright-filled environments.
The release date for the game is June 24, 2008. The PS3’s AITD game release may not be 24 June, 2008 as the release date is yet to be announced. The game will be published on the following consoles:
• PS2
• PC
• XBOX 360
• Wii
• PS3
This next-gen Alone in the Dark is also built around a unique episodic game structure — the story is split into a number of distinct 30-40 minute episodes, doled out one at a time as you play. Each time the player launches a saved game, the episode will begin with a video summary of the previous episode to quickly re-immerse the player in the story and removing the need to remember where they were or what they were doing. Every episode will close with a nail-biting cliff-hanger ending to rattle players’ nerves, and if the player is leaving the game a video teaser of the next episode will play to leave them wanting more.
