The Collector, an Elder of the Universe who scours the galaxy for interesting artifacts and life forms to add to his rare collection, has organized a Contest of Champions. His true motives are known by none and are perhaps incomprehensible.
He has allowed you, the Summoner, to fight against the other Contest Overlords for a chance to win the Legendary Isosphere. The stakes are simple: Win and you shall be granted untold power. Lose and you shall be placed in his collection… permanently.
In this Storyline, our Champions are Heroes that were captured by the Collector. They are controlled by the powers of his captor and forced to battle against each other under the command of the Contest Overlords. Power, Stamina, and Will are controlled by the rules of the Contest.

CATALYSTS: HOW TO USE
HOW DO CATALYSTS WORK?
Catalysts are used to “Rank Up” your Champion, to increase your Hero’s PI (Power Index) Potential, and sometimes to unlock new special attacks.
There are different kinds of Catalysts:
* GENERIC CATALYST: TIERS 1, 2, 3, AND 4.
* CLASS CATALYST
Catalysts need to be in your inventory to Rank your Hero up. If a Catalyst is located in your Stash it will not count for the upgrade.
Once you have maxed out a hero’s “Level” within a Rank, you will be able to rank up your hero.
To Upgrade the Rank of your Champion, select “Champions” on your main Menu > Choose a maxed out Champion and tap on “Upgrade” > select the Class Catalysts and tap on “Rank Up”. Remember that you need to have enough Gold in your inventory.
To upgrade a Champion from Rank 1 to Rank 2, you will only need Generic Catalysts.
To upgrade a Champion from Rank 2 to 3, 4, and 5, however, you will need both Generic Catalysts and Class Catalysts.
The best way to get Catalysts is by completing Special Events.
ISO-8: CLASSES AND USES
WHAT IS ISO-8?
Stands for Isotope-8. This Isotope can do almost anything in the Marvel universe. In Contest of Champions, ISO-8 is not as unlimited (yet) but it is the matter you use to upgrade your Champion.
There are currently two different kinds of ISO-8:
* GENERIC ISO-8
* CLASS ISO-8
Both ISO-8 types can be used to level up all your Champions, regardless of the Class.
However, using a Class-specific ISO-8 with a Champion of that Class, will grant you added benefits when leveling up. Each Class ISO-8 has a color that corresponds to the six available classes: Science, Mystic, Mutant, Cosmic, Technology, Skill.
ISO-8 can be obtained through completing Quests and opening Chests and Crystals.

Each 3v3 Arena consists of 3 different Battles. You win the Arena if you defeat your opponent in 2 or more Battles.
You will be rewarded with Battlechips and Gold for each won Battle, a Tier 1, 2 or 3 Chest (depending on the amount of Battles you won), and a Win Streak Bonus.

BATTLE MOVES IN MARVEL: CONTEST OF CHAMPIONS
HOW DO I FIGHT?
Light attacks are fast, close ranged and can be spawned one after the other. They can be interrupted.
Medium attacks allow you to get closer to the enemy Champion and hit, they are medium ranged and can be interrupted.
Combos act as a link between multiple Medium and Light Attacks. While there are no specific bonuses for chaining attacks together (yet), they improve your reaction and speed.
Blocking an enemy attack will reduce the damage taken by the hit. However, a Block can be broken with a Heavy Attack. Make sure that you react in time to avoid taking damage and losing too much HP!
If your opponent is Blocking, you can break his block with a Heavy Attack. Remember that this attack requires you to charge it, which means it can be interrupted with a hit.
MOBILITY: DODGE AND DASH
These techniques increase your mobility in combat. You can Dodge to avoid enemy attacks and Dash to initiate an attack from a distance.
Special Attacks depend on your Champion. Each one has a different set of Special Attacks that is based on their Tier and Rank. This combat style will charge while you are fighting and glow green once the charge is full. It cannot be interrupted, the cast is instant, but it can be blocked.
Special Attacks have different levels. For Example, if a Champion has a set of 2 Special Attacks active, he will be able to charge his level 1 SP Attack and cast it. He can also continue fighting and charge his level 2 Attack, and then cast a more powerful move.
A level 1 SP Attack consumes 1 charge, a level 2 SP Attack consumes 2 charges, and so on. A Champion will always perform the highest currently available special move when the attack is activated.Special Bonus
Specials are passive bonuses. Each Champion has his own set of Specials, you can check them out by going to your “Inventory” > then selecting “My Champions” > choosing your Champion and tapping on “Info”.
Specials can be permanent or temporary bonuses. Permanent bonuses are passive. Temporary bonuses have a chance to proc for a certain amount of time, if the conditions are met.
CHAMPION LEVEL, RANK AND TIER
WHAT IS CHAMPION LEVEL, RANK AND TIER? HOW DOES EACH ONE AFFECT MY CHAMPION?
Each Champion has a Tier, Rank and Level. You can see this information by going to your “Champions” on your Home Screen > then tapping on your Champion and selecting “Info”.
Tiers go from 1-Star to 4-Stars and cannot be changed. The higher the Tier, the better the stats of your Champion. Tiers control Synergy Bonuses, and allow your Champion to Rank up higher. The Rank cap is always 1+ than the Tier, for example: a Champion Tier 1 will only be able to reach Rank 2.
LEVELS AND RANKS CAN BE INCREASED.
Levels increase the power of a Champion. Ranks increase the max Level of a Champion. For example, your Champion can reach Level 10 in Rank 1, and Level 20 in Rank 2. The level cap is always 10x as much as the Rank.
When your Champion reaches the maximum Level for his Rank he will be required to rank up, in order to unlock new Levels. Ranking up will increase passive abilities like bleed, regeneration, armor break, etc.
HOW DO YOU LEVEL UP YOUR CHAMPION?
There are two ways to level up your Champion: using ISO-8 or using Catalysts. Remember that using a class specific ISO or Catalyst will have added benefits.
To Upgrade the Level of your Hero, go to your “Champions” on your Home Screen > then tap on your Champion and select “Upgrade”. You will need to select the ISO-8 you want to use and tap on “Upgrade” before the upgrade is complete. Remember that you need to have enough Gold in your inventory.
HOW DO YOU RANK UP YOUR CHAMPION?
Once you have maxed out a Champion’s “Level” within a Rank, you will be able to rank up your hero. You can do this by using the corresponding Class Catalysts (for example, using a Science Catalyst on Spider-man).
To Upgrade the Rank of your Champion, go to your “Champions” on your Home Screen > then tap on a max level Champion and select “Upgrade”. You will need to select the Class Catalysts and tap on “Rank Up” before the upgrade is complete. Remember that you need to have enough Gold in your inventory.

ORGANIZING YOUR INVENTORY
WHY IS MY INVENTORY SO SMALL?
WHERE DO MY ITEMS GO WHEN I’M OUT OF SPACE?
You may find yourself with a full inventory, which is pretty inconvenient when you are saving ISO-8 to upgrade a specific Champion, or you have too many Class ISO-8 and Catalysts you cannot use.
When your inventory is full, your extra items will be placed in your Stash. Be careful! Your Stash can only hold items temporarily and after the countdown is over, the items will be lost.
To go to your Stash, just tap on the Icon located both in your Inventory and your Home Screen.
To increase the capacity of your Inventory, you can level up your Profile and unlock new slots, or sell items in your Inventory for Gold.

Special Events help you get Catalysts, which are a must have in order to Rank up your Champion. Watch for different events that will focus on different Class and Tier of Catalysts to ensure you get the ones you need.
Some Special Events are permanent, like “Proving Ground”, others are only active during a specific time frame.
You can find active Special Events by going to “Quests” on your Home Screen > tapping on “Special Events”, selecting the Event and choosing a level Easy, Medium or Hard.
