Firefox 3 Beta 2

Well, I’m not sure when it came out… But today I tested the Firefox 3 Beta 2. I have to say I’m pleased with it. It doesn’t support most of my add-ons or Theme though… But it’s quite nice. You can find it here. In case you don’t know what version to get then I’d recommend the English (US) one for Windows, since it is what you’ll most likely have. There are two major upgrades, at least for me. So far I’ve liked them. The first one is a the location bar improvement this location bar, unlike the one on Firefox 2.0, looks on visited and bookmarked page titles and tags along with web addresses. This is really good for when you know you were in a website but don’t really recall the name but can at least remember or think of some possible tags, as well as saving you the time it takes to press Ctrl+H. Here is an example of this powerful location bar in action. The second major upgrade is the download manager. I can’t say much about it since I have a 56k dial-up connection and I can’t download anything too big but from what I’ve seen it’s much more stable and actually supports real pausing and resuming.

Well, I really recommend getting Firefox 3 Beta 2, but remember, you’ll lose some of your add-ons, but don’t worry, Ad Block Plus still works.
