Sony Playstation E3 conference, what we’ve been told.

So we’ve just been talking with a Sony Playstation rep regarding the upcoming Playstation E3 conference which is being held later on today.
According to the rep, Sony have some interesting things to unveil at the show. The first thing which caught our attention was 4 new PS3 exclusive games which are to be released later on in the year and early 2009. These 4 new games will be shown as well as the following games which have been officially confirmed by Sony:
Killzone 2 (PS3)
LittleBigPlanet (PS3)
MotorStorm Pacific Rift (PS3)
PixelJunk Eden (PS3)
Resistance 2 (PS3)
SIREN: Blood Curse Episode #1 (PSN)
SOCOM: Confrontation (PS3)
Buzz! Master Quiz
Buzz! Quiz TV
We’re guessing that one of the 4 games to be announced by Sony later on today will be God of War 3. For the others, we’re unsure.
The Sony rep said that Home has a few more features/additions and these will also be demonstrated. What these features are exactly, we don’t know.
A new Playstation controller is also supposed to be in the making. Apparently it has a much longer battery life (not that the current controllers don’t have a long battery life!), will be lighter than the current DualShock3, and of course will include rumble. A wireless headset is also said to be included in future PS3 packages and we’re told that we could be seeing a new PS3 bundle in time for Christmas. With Resistance 2 being released in November, there’s a very good chance that Resistance 2 could be part of the new PS3 bundle.
A new PS3 firmware is supposed to be demonstrated, displaying “In game mic chat”. A few more “surprises” will be detailed later today, we’re not told what, so we’ll just have to sit back and wait.
As this is not officially confirmed by Sony, we’re currently calling all this a rumour for now - we’ll see it all happen later on today.

dont people realise that MS conference was rubbish until they announced ff13. it really was not for the hardcore gamer.

Yeah i agree it seemed to me MS is going more Kiddie/family than hardcore wich is what most of the users are and is it just me or did Fall out 3 look way better than Gears 2?

Yeah. I agree. No loyalty among the gaming industry (when there’s a company called “Microsoft” dishing out its tricks that it used on the PC industry. I liked Xbox better when it didn’t follow the whole “rip-off everything you see, maybe we’ll appeal to the customer” crap. Its not working MS, you need to think of new things… like remember the good old days when they thought up “Achievements” all on their own?

MS is trying to go for something more like what Wii and PS3 are–a media center/kiddie fun-time console. They want to appeal to everybody. Its not going to change until they make a new console. Its already earned “frat-boy’s most wanted.”
…and Fallout 3 did look way better than Gears 2.

The MS conference… (pardon my upcoming french) sucked. It was like a rip-off of the Announcement of Wii and PS3 Keynotes @ E3 combined together.
It went a little like this: …We’re taking the interface to the next level by ripping off a mixture of the iPhone, the PS3’s XMB, and the Wii’s home screen. Oh yeah, we’ll be introducing Miis on the 360, but this time, they wear clothes. Take that Nintendo. And Sony–I guess… [*crickets still chirping*] Oh yeah, we’re getting Final Fantasy XIII [*people cheer, PS3 fanboys cry*]
i read an article yesterday that they there gonna be announcing a new product all they showed us was a close up of the green power button. was that real or did u jus forget?
@911 Gaming: I agree, the Avatar system they have just looks like direct copy of the Mii’s. How is it any different (apart from the fact you can wear/buy clothes…) from Nintendo’s Mii system?

Next year all we need is epic to bring the gears of war series to the PS3! But don’t bring the halo crap please… nor forza… fable’s all right. FF13 going 360 is gutting tho. But not to worry, there’s still Resistance 2, Killzone, LBG, SOCOM, God of War 3, Gran Turismo, Ico’s next game, ex-tended Bioshock, Fallout 3, COD5, Soul Calibur and if I was Sony I’d hold back a dozen or so for next year ;P Don’t need to show everything!
